WordPress plugin
Your Move Nutrition for WordPress
Free calorie, TDEE and BMI calculator blocks that work the moment you activate the plugin, no account needed. Connect a Your Move API key to add a member calorie tracker, barcode scanner, Nutrition Facts labels, meal plans and recipes.
Open source, GPL-2.0-or-later. A listing in the WordPress.org plugin directory is coming.
What it is
Your Move Nutrition adds nutrition tools to any WordPress site as Gutenberg blocks and shortcodes. The calorie and BMI calculators are free and self-contained: the maths runs in the visitor's browser, and you can turn them into a lead magnet with optional or required email capture. The blocks style themselves from your theme, or you can pick one of five built-in styles.
For coaches, gyms and creators who run memberships on WordPress, a Your Move API key adds a food diary for logged-in members, backed by the Your Move Nutrition API and the Your Move Recipe API. A Nutrition logs screen under Users lets you see how members are doing.
The calculator formulas, activity multipliers and macro splits are documented on the calorie calculator methodology page.

Privacy and external services
- The calculators never contact an external server.
- With a key, the plugin calls the Your Move Nutrition API at exercise-api.ymove.app only for the features above: search text, barcode digits, the meal photo or description a member chooses to analyse (Pro), meal plan settings, and recipe filters. Members confirm a consent notice before their first photo.
- Your API key is stored encrypted and used only server-side. Barcode lookups are cached for 30 days and searches for a day, and you set hourly and daily limits per member.
- Each request carries a hash of the site URL, not the URL itself, so Your Move can count active installations.
- Calculator lead emails are sent by your own WordPress through wp_mail. The webhook posts only to the URL you enter.
- Cloudflare Turnstile or Google reCAPTCHA load only if you enable them. No tracking scripts are loaded.
See the Your Move terms of service and privacy policy.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an API key?
Not for the calorie and BMI calculators. They run entirely in the browser and never contact Your Move. All calculator styles and layouts, lead capture, the results email, the leads screen, CSV export and the webhook are free without a key. The tracker, barcode lookup, Nutrition Facts, meal plan and Recipes blocks need a Your Move API key because they use live food and recipe data.
Which plan do I need?
Basic covers food search and barcode lookup. Pro adds AI photo and text food logging in the tracker. The plugin shows your current plan under Settings and tells members when a feature needs an upgrade rather than hiding it.
How do I add the calculator with Elementor, Divi or another page builder?
Use the shortcode. In Elementor add the Shortcode widget and paste [ymove_calculator]; in Divi use a Code or Text module; in Beaver Builder, Bricks or WPBakery use the HTML or Shortcode module. Every block option is available as a shortcode attribute, and the full list is under Settings > Your Move Nutrition > Blocks & shortcodes.
Can guests use the tracker?
No. A food diary belongs to a WordPress user account, so visitors who are not logged in see a login prompt. You can also limit the tracker to specific roles, or tie it to a membership level with the ymove_user_can_track filter. It works with MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, WooCommerce Memberships and other plugins that restrict pages.
Does the barcode scanner work on iPhone?
Yes. Safari 17 and later use the built-in barcode detector, and older browsers fall back to the bundled ZXing library. The camera needs the site to be served over HTTPS. A field for typing the barcode is always shown as well.
Where is member data stored?
Diaries, targets, the food cache and calculator leads are stored in custom tables in your own WordPress database. Your Move does not store anything about your members beyond the API request itself. The plugin registers with the WordPress personal data exporter and eraser.
Is there spam protection on the email form?
A honeypot field and a per-IP rate limit are always on and need no third-party script. You can additionally enable Cloudflare Turnstile or Google reCAPTCHA v3 under Settings; the script then loads only on pages with an email form.
My host does not send email. What now?
The plugin sends results emails through wp_mail, so any SMTP plugin such as WP Mail SMTP or FluentSMTP will handle delivery. Settings > Your Move Nutrition has a test button and a log of recent sends.
Can I hide the links to ymove.app?
Yes. Each block shows a short source line by default, linking to the formula explanation or the data source. Turn it off under Settings > Your Move Nutrition.
